SEPTEMBER
Monday, 22 September 2008
It’s officially Spring, but be careful to not get carried away. Hopefully the wet season has ended and stock can start to enjoy some sunshine. Pastures are your main concern this month – remember it doesn’t grow for free. In fact growing pasture is your major cost on the farm.

AUGUST
Wednesday, 20 August 2008
A fortnight of unending storm weather not withstanding, spring should be just about on you. Hopefully a good number of ewes will have lambed, cows will have calved and there will be plenty of calves in the sale yards for those who want to start rearing.

JULY
Wednesday, 23 July 2008
It doesn’t seem to matter that we’re “up North”, the weather has been positively glacial lately – just to prove that we are well and truly into winter. With Christmas out of the way it’s time to start thinking about planning for the coming year. No matter how tempting it might be to put it off until the kids go back to school, the sooner you get to it the better prepared you’ll be.

It’s holiday season. If you don’t believe me a quick look in your fridge will remind you – when else do you have left over pavlova and glazed ham vying for space on the second shelf?
