The Vario Stock Handling System is designed for lifestyle blocks and farmers with small numbers of cattle.

The system consists of a handler and a portable panel and gate system for creating pens.

Vario System Panels:

These panels are constructed from a 54 x 36mm oval tubing, are fully hot dipped galvanised and feature five rails.  Being 1.6m high and 2.4m long they are strong and yet still light enough for one person to safely handle.  They feature a curved foot on each end which allows the panel to be pushed along the ground easily and prevents it from sinking into soft ground.  This panel system is connected together via a simple drop in pin.

Vario swing gates are also available and feature a simple to use, but reliable chain latch and they swing back 180° in one direction allowing you to chain the gate open if you are getting stock into the yards.

Vario Handler:

There are two types of Vario Handlers: the multi purpose handler which allows cattle to be loaded onto a truck.

The Vario multi purpose model is the most popular.  Some of the unique features on the multi purpose model are as follows:

Sliding gate – at the back of the unit is a sliding gate which is reversible and can be set up to slide out to either the left hand or the right hand side.  It features two nylon wheels, is fully hot dipped galvanised and also has a safety lock to lock the gate shut.

Vet rail – on both sides of the Vario Handler is a removable vet rail.  This creates an opening 370mm wide so that any work can be done on the animal i.e. pour on drenching.

Anti-backing ratchets – a very simple anti backing system is incorporated into the side of the Vario Handler.  This allows a pipe to be put in and used to lever a stubborn animal forward, perhaps into the headbail or to hold an animal forward.

Loading ramp – the Vario features an adjustable height loading ramp which can be raised and lowered by a simple winch using a stainless steel wire rope to lift and lower the platform.  It is variable height, so it can load trailers, utes or trucks up to 1200mm high.

This is a real advantage for lifestyle blocks as a lot of their stock transport is done by trailers or utes, or even small sized trucks due to the small numbers involved.

The loading ramp platform is a unique design that features a rubber insert and sides.  The sides enable both cattle and sheep to be loaded.  The steel floor incorporates a heavy duty steel cleat to give the animals a sure footing while going up or down the ramp.  The rubber matting is a more natural surface for the animals to stand on and also reduces noise.

When the platform is lowered right down, it can be used for weighing stock.  By being able to weigh their stock, a lifestyle block or small farmer can check the growth weight of their cattle, check the weights of the cattle that they have purchased and monitor animal health and performance.

An optional weigh scale indicator mounting bracket is also available so that the scale indicator can be mounted in various positions on the side of the handler.

Headbail – at the front of the Vario Handler is a simple headbail.  It features a rope so that it can be operated from behind the animal.  It is designed for cattle up to 550kg.  The headbail also doubles as a gate if the weigh platform is being used.
